It has been a whole year since we moved into our house! If you were following along when we moved, I used the move as an opportunity to ditch all our old, toxic cleaning products. With a fresh start, we chose to only keep non-toxic household products around. Thankfully there are a growing number of options out there for non-toxic cleaning supplies. As a minimalist and a budget shopper, I choose to keep things simple. I keep a handful of staple items on hand that serve multiple purposes for cleaning around the house. You can cover all your cleaning needs with just a few basic essentials. These are the basics that I have on hand to make all our cleaning products. I stocked up on these items when we moved last March and they have lasted me all year (and still going).
1. Cove Pure and Vegan Castille Soap Unscented with Argan, Jojoba and Hemp Oil
4. White Distilled Vinegar
5. Baking Soda
6. Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol
7. Revive Essential Oils (get $10 off your first order here)
Note: You can use any essential oils brand. I found Revive, and I love them because they are top quality like Young Living and Doterra, but at a fraction of the cost. Plus shipping is always free and there is no subscription or MLM relationship to worry about. But you can also find essential oils at Walmart in the vitamin aisle at very affordable prices.
I purchased these amber glass bottles to store the different cleaners in. Amber glass bottles protect from light rays, which weaken the strength of the product inside. I also purchased these toddler-sized spray bottles, which I put our all-purpose cleaner in, so that the girls can help out with practical life cleaning.
Also, all of our hand soap and dish soap is in kept in mason jars. I had a ton of mason jars sitting around, so I purchased these foaming dispenser lids to screw on the top of the mason jars turning them into soap dispensers.
Here are ten recipes for homemade household cleaning products that you can make from the above listed staples.

Air Freshener
I use diffusers (this is the one I have) with essential oils throughout the house for freshening the air instead of sprays, plug-ins or candles. My favorite smell to diffuse is lavender, but the possibilities are truly endless. There are so many scents and blends out there to choose from.
